The Parent Collection
The DesignerPunks are a collection of 555 NFT's minted on OpenSea. Inspired by the industry-wide practice of destroying unsold stock, this collection seeks to reverse that damage by giving to charities who clothe those in need.

So far we have donated to Goodwill and The Salvation Army, but going forward we would like to start giving to charities that accept Eth. This Github page has a list of some but let us know if there are more!
Once 555 DesignerPunks Kids are minted, we will begin the parent collection's migration process away from OpenSea's centralized contract onto our own smart contract.
This collection moved over to the Polygon network in September of 2021 when gas fees were at an all time high and hurting smaller collections. Creators benefit from using Polygon as they can mint their pieces and airdrop them to their collectors for free. Then, if those collectors so wish, they can list the NFT or transfer to a vault for safekeeping all without paying gas fees.
We will have a community vote in the Discord on whether to stay on Polygon or have our own contract on the L1 Ethereum blockchain. While there are many benefits to using Polygon, it has gotten a bad reputation due to the unlimited spam that free transfers allow. Gas has gone down since last year and developers have also come up with ways to minimize the amount of gas Ethereum contracts use. In the end, it will be left up to the community to decide.
